TIMIFY’s calendar settings let you personalise how your calendar looks and how you interact with bookings. You can configure your preferred calendar view, control the information displayed on the calendar, manage bookings with drag and drop or keyboard shortcuts, and choose how the booking form opens.
Your calendar settings are stored per user and per account, so you can configure the calendar around the way you work without changing the setup for other users on the same account.
Article Structure
Here Is What You Need to Know
The calendar settings are available in the TIMIFY WebApp and are organised into four areas:
Calendar view – configure the default view, time zone, displayed hours, cell size and work week.
Calendar display – control information displayed on the calendar, including resource working hours, online booking hours, footfall and the apps dock.
Interactions – configure drag and drop, keyboard shortcuts and action hints.
Booking form – choose which optional booking fields are available and how the booking form opens.
Your settings apply only to your user on the account. There is no account-level or Branch Manager configuration that applies the same calendar settings to an entire team.
ℹ️ Some calendar settings depend on your TIMIFY plan. In particular, drag and drop, keyboard shortcuts and action hints are available with Premium and Enterprise. Settings that are not included in your plan remain visible but are locked.

1. How to Open Your Calendar Settings
From the calendar, select the gear icon in the top-left corner above the time column.
If keyboard shortcuts are enabled, you can also press S.
The settings panel contains four columns: Calendar view, Calendar display, Interactions, and Booking form.
There is no Save button. Changes take effect and are saved as soon as you make them. Close the panel using the cross in the top-right corner when you have finished.

ℹ️ When you open the settings from Weekly view, Work week is available under Calendar view. It does not appear when you open the settings from Daily view because this setting applies only to Weekly view.
2. How to Customise Your Calendar View
Use the Calendar view settings to control the structure of your calendar.
Default Calendar View
Choose which view TIMIFY opens when you sign in:
Agenda
Daily
Weekly
Shift plan
Weekly is the default until you select another option. You can still switch between calendar views at any time; this setting only determines which one opens initially.
Calendar Time Zone
Choose the time zone in which your calendar is displayed.
For example, if you are working temporarily from another country, you can display your bookings in the local time zone and change the setting back when required.
Calendar Hours
Use the two handles on the slider to choose the first and last hours displayed in your calendar.
ℹ️ Calendar hours only change what is displayed. They do not change resource working hours, online booking hours or availability. Bookings can therefore exist outside the hours currently visible on your calendar.
Calendar Cell Size
Adjust the height of the calendar's time cells.
Larger cells give short bookings more space and can make them easier to read and select. Smaller cells let you see more of the day at once.
Work Week
In Weekly view, select which days appear as columns in your calendar.
A work week must contain at least three days. Once only three days remain selected, you cannot deselect them until you select an additional day.

3. How to Customise Your Calendar Display
Use Calendar display to control the information shown behind your bookings. These settings change what you see; they do not change bookings or resource availability.
You can configure:
Resource working hours – shades the hours when each resource is not working.
Resource online booking hours – highlights the periods when a resource can be booked online.
Show footfall – displays expected footfall using green, yellow, orange and red levels.
Fade past bookings – dims bookings that have already taken place.
Apps dock – displays a dock at the bottom of the calendar for compatible installed apps.

ℹ️ Only installed apps that support full-screen mode can appear in the apps dock.
4. How to Enable Drag and Drop
ℹ️ Drag and drop is available with Premium and Enterprise plans. This includes moving, resizing, copying and creating bookings by dragging, as well as the confirmation settings described below.
Go to Calendar settings > Interactions > Drag and drop and enable the switch.
Drag and drop applies to the Daily and Weekly calendar views. Once enabled, you can:
Move a booking to another time, day or resource.
Resize a booking by dragging its top or bottom edge.
Copy a booking by holding Ctrl on Windows or Cmd on Mac while dragging.
Add another resource by holding Shift while dragging sideways.
Create a booking by dragging across free time.
Change individual intervals of a split booking.
Reorder visible resource columns where your plan supports this option.

While you drag a booking, the calendar indicates whether the destination can accept it. A green placeholder indicates an allowed position, while red indicates that the booking cannot be placed there.
Drag and drop follows the same scheduling rules and permissions as editing through the booking form. For example, TIMIFY can refuse a drop when the resource is unavailable, is not assigned to the service, already has a booking at that time, or you do not have permission to edit the resource.
How to Configure Drag and Drop Confirmations
When Drag and drop is enabled, you can choose when TIMIFY asks you to confirm a change:
Always ask before saving
Ask only for bookings with a customer or participants
Never ask before saving
Ask only for bookings with a customer or participants is the default setting.
When confirmation is required, a panel appears next to the booking's destination. It shows the details changed by the drag and, when applicable, notification options.
ℹ️ A dragged change sends an email only when the confirmation panel appears and you leave the corresponding notification checkbox selected. If no confirmation panel appears, no email is sent to the customer or resource.
How to Move, Resize and Copy Bookings
To move a booking, drag its body to another available time, day or resource.
To change its duration, drag the top edge to change the start time or the bottom edge to change the end time.
To copy a booking, hold Ctrl on Windows or Cmd on Mac while dragging it. The original remains in place, and the copy uses the time, day and resource where you drop it.
To add another resource, hold Shift while dragging the booking sideways onto another eligible resource.
To create a booking, drag across an available period in a resource's calendar. When you release, the booking form opens with the selected start time and duration already entered.
Undo a Change
After a successful move or resize, a message appears in the bottom-right corner with an Undo button.

Select Undo to return the booking to its previous position. Undo does not require confirmation and does not send an email.
If a change cannot be saved, the booking automatically returns to its previous position.
5. How to Enable Keyboard Shortcuts
ℹ️ Keyboard shortcuts are available with Premium and Enterprise plans.
Go to Calendar settings > Interactions > Keyboard shortcuts and enable the switch.
Keyboard shortcuts let you perform calendar actions without opening menus first. For booking-specific actions, place your pointer over the booking and press the corresponding key.
Common shortcuts include:
Shortcut | Action |
E | Edit the booking |
P | Preview the booking |
O | Open booking options |
D | Open the delete confirmation |
N | Create a booking in the free slot under the pointer |
Ctrl/Cmd + C | Copy |
Ctrl/Cmd + X | Cut |
Ctrl/Cmd + V | Paste |
1–4 | Switch calendar views |
T | Go to today |
G | Open the date picker |
S | Open calendar settings |
F | Open or close filters |
H | Show or hide action hints |
Shift + ? | Open the shortcuts list |
Booking-specific shortcuts are available in Daily and Weekly views. Navigation shortcuts are available more broadly across the calendar views.

ℹ️ Press Shift + ? to open the complete shortcuts list. Keyboard shortcuts must be enabled for this command to work.
6. How to Use Action Hints
ℹ️ Action hints are available with Premium and Enterprise plans. They can be used in the Daily and Weekly calendar views.
Go to Calendar settings > Interactions > Action hints and enable the switch.
The action hints bar appears at the bottom of Daily and Weekly views and shows available actions based on where your pointer is positioned.
When you point to a booking, it displays actions such as preview, edit, options, delete, copy and cut. When you point to a free slot, it displays actions such as creating or pasting a booking.
You can press H to show or hide the hints bar without opening the settings panel.

7. How to Configure the Booking Form
The Booking form section controls which optional fields are available to you and how the form opens.
You can show or hide the following optional fields:
Repeat booking
Split booking
Prep and follow-up times
Day duration
Turning one of these options off does not change your services or existing bookings. It controls whether the field is offered in the booking form for your user.
Choose the Default Form Appearance
Under Default form appearance, choose:
Inline – opens the form beside the calendar so you can continue seeing surrounding bookings.
Full screen – opens the form across the full window.
You can switch an individual form between inline and full screen while it is open. Doing this affects only that form and does not change your default setting.

8. Important Tips
Drag and drop works in Daily and Weekly views only.
Action hints are also limited to Daily and Weekly views.
Only one booking can be dragged at a time.
A booking that ends on a different day from when it starts cannot be dragged or resized.
Dragging does not override booking permissions, working hours or resource availability.
Copying a booking from a repeat series copies only the individual booking, not the series.
Calendar settings are personal. They cannot currently be configured or enforced for an entire team.
Settings that are not included in your plan remain visible but are locked.
9. FAQ
Q. Why Can't I Drag a Booking?
Check that Calendar settings > Interactions > Drag and drop is enabled and that the setting is available with your plan.
A specific booking can also be unavailable for dragging because of its permissions or scheduling conditions. Bookings that extend across more than one day cannot be dragged or resized.
Q. Why Is the Booking Red While I Am Dragging It?
Red indicates that the current destination cannot accept the booking. This can happen because of resource availability, working or online booking hours, another booking or private event, a resource absence, service assignment or your permissions.
Q. Will a Customer Receive an Email When I Drag Their Booking?
Only when a confirmation panel appears and you leave the relevant notification checkbox selected.
If the booking saves without displaying the confirmation panel, no customer or resource email is sent.
Q. Why Aren't My Keyboard Shortcuts Working?
Check Calendar settings > Interactions > Keyboard shortcuts and make sure the feature is available with your plan.
Some shortcuts also depend on the calendar view. Booking-specific shortcuts work in Daily and Weekly views but not in Agenda or Shift plan.
Q. Can I Apply the Same Calendar Settings to My Whole Team?
No. Calendar settings are stored per user and per account. Each user configures their own calendar. There is no Branch Manager or account-level setting that applies the same configuration to everyone.
Q. Do My Settings Apply When I Switch to Another TIMIFY Account?
Each account has its own configuration. If your user has access to multiple accounts, you can configure the calendar separately for each one.
